The Hack n’ Whack tradition began in 2008/2009ish when founding fathers and neighbors Dwayne Deatherage and Jeffrey Zepp gathered esteemed friends and family for a civilized weekend of golf, socializing and friendly wagers . Starting from humble roots in Weddington’s Crooked River district the annual event now is the most anticipated annual June event in greater Weddington Trace. The event has spread tens of hundreds of miles as athletes from the southeast convene every year to add another chapter to the legend of the pink ball.
